DeRego's Naturally Fermented Whole Grain Crackers

DeRego's Bread was established in 2013 when Troy DeRego began baking artisan bread and pastries for sale at the Starkville Community Market. In May of 2015, with a great deal of local support from a community eager for real bread, the bakery on Main Street opened.

My love of bread began with trips to the Portuguese bakeries during visits to my grandparents in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I baked my first loaf at sea on a research schooner! I have studied at the San Francisco Baking Institute, and as a proud member of the Bread Bakers Guild of America I have attended workshops with many of my bread making heroes.

We strive to be a zero-waste operation, use the best natural products we can get our hands on, and grow in a manageable and sustainable way. We want to build something that will last and make the world just a little bit better than it was before.
